Established in 1991, Charleston County: A Community of Readers (COR) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the importance and joy of reading. By working with three cornerstone groups—schools, families, and the community—our goal is to make “Every One A Reader Every Day!”
COR collaborates with public and private schools spanning grades K–12, local colleges and universities, business, government and community agencies, and many private citizens. COR sponsors a variety of activities that promote reading as a rewarding and enjoying lifelong habit.
COR is supported through generous contributions of volunteer hours, books and other materials, grants and financial donations. COR does not employ any paid staff members. New donors and volunteers are always welcomed! Every type of contribution to COR, large or small, makes a postive difference in the quality of life in our community!
We hope you will join our efforts today!
