The ability to read is one of the most important skills for a productive and fulfilling life. Young people who read are more likely to complete school, become employed, and engage in civic activities. Charleston County: A Community of Readers (COR), recognized as a 2010 Literary Leaders Award recipient, needs your financial support to help our young people become successful readers and contribute positively to our community.
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the importance and love of reading. By working with schools, families, business and community groups, our goal is to make “Every One A Reader Every Day.”
Beginning in 1991, COR has conducted annual school and home reading awards programs in public and private schools; collected thousands of new and gently used books for children and families; shared reading tips with parents to enhance their children’s ability and love for reading; and collaborated with many businesses and community groups to rais awareness about the importance of reading.
Your financial support will enable COR to continue this important work. Please don’t hesitate to send in your COR contribution today. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to programs for children. Your donation is tax deductible and will make a difference in the lives of children and families in Charleston County.
Thank you for your generosity!
